This is the testimonial of Koen (Project & Field Coach).
After some eight years as an Install & Repair Technician at Janssens Field Services, I was ready for a new professional step. I had built up some serious know-how and I was also interested in coaching employees.
The joint venture that resulted in the creation of Unit-T generated a lot of new projects. With my ambition and wishes in mind, I spoke to our then In-Home Manager about this.
I soon got the chance to start supporting and coaching new technicians in the field within the Smart Thermo project. This in turn resulted in a new assignment within a project for Eandis.
So today I work mainly on a project basis. The preparatory discussions concerning my internal job change went entirely through my manager. Today I can say I am very satisfied with my job change. I bear responsibility for a team of technicians, work on the field as well as in the office for administrative work and sometimes from home. So plenty of variety!
I definitely recommend colleagues looking for a new position to go for it. A higher salary should not be the only motivation, in my opinion. Find the job that suits you, take the initiative, go for it and the rest will follow!
